Businesses supporting communities

Contributing towards the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation (QATSIF) is one way your business can support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Businesses can provide corporate sponsorship to boost the fund and increase the number of young people the foundation can assist. Your help can contribute towards genuine changes in the lives of Queensland's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

About Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation

The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation (QATSIF) will fund education and development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.

The QATSIF will:

  • contribute to turning around the legacy of mistakes caused by past policies and practices
  • improve education and employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to 'close the gap' between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Queenslanders

Benefits to your business

There is a lot to be done to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples can enjoy the same health, education and social advantages as other Australians.

Your business can play its part in reducing disadvantage by supporting the foundation's funding of education scholarships and bursaries. The benefits to your business or corporation include:

  • tax benefits through tax-deductible donations
  • creating a sense of corporate and social responsibility throughout your organisation, which can have a positive impact on staff morale
  • promoting your company as a caring corporate citizen, which may have flow-on benefits for customer loyalty

If your businesses or corporation wants to help QATSIF reach its goals contact Dr Cindy Shannon, QATSIF Chairwoman, on 1800 215 589.
