Explore Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rich culture and heritage at Queensland’s museums, art galleries, libraries and cultural places. You’ll find Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural artefacts, visual arts, stories and displays as well as dance and theatre performances. You can also visit culturally significant places or go on a cultural tourism experience.

Gab Titui Cultural Centre
The Gab Titui Cultural Centre on Thursday Island features artefacts, artwork, song, dance and stories from the Torres Strait Islands. It promotes and maintains both traditional ‘Ailan Kastom’ and contemporary Indigenous art.

Significant places – Queensland cultural heritage map
The Queensland Cultural Heritage Map lists more than 200 cultural heritage sites, including quarries, rockshelters, carved trees, engravings, paintings and travel routes. It also lists settlements and missions, police and contact sites and massacre sites.

State Library of Queensland – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collections
The State Library of Queensland collects a range of material relating to Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders and their cultures. The collection includes photographs, posters, oral histories and digital stories. The library also features Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and artists.
