Do you want to become a leader in your community? These programs can help you develop the skills you need to work towards a better future for you and your community.
Join other young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from across Queensland to learn leadership skills, develop networks and talk about issues in your community. The Office for Youth pays for most costs, such as accommodation and transport.
If you're aged 15 to 25 years, you can apply to be a member of Queensland's Youth Parliament. Learn new skills, meet new people and have a positive impact upon your local community. If you want to know how government works and how you can make changes for the better, this is the program for you.
The Foundation for Young Australians provides opportunities for all young Australians to help them reach their education and career goals, including scholarship programs and programs to support young people in creating positive change in their communities.
Young Achievement Australia runs a program for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants that aims to build business skills and business capacity. Program facilitators are experienced Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander mentors or mentors that have experience in working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait people and their communities.
Youth Challenge Australia’s Indigenous Youth Leadership Program aims offers young Indigenous Australians the opportunity to gain leadership, personal and professional skills through grass roots community development work in Vanuatu.
